INTRODUCTION

This website introduces Ptarmigan Land Ltd and explains the emerging proposal to redevelop The Fairfields, Burnham Road, Latchingdon.

You are invited to provide feedback on the emerging proposal which will be considered by the project team before a planning application is submitted to Maldon Council.

The site comprises part brownfield/previously developed land which is used as a scrap storage facility along with a bungalow and former domestic garden.

The proposal is an infill development with the Red Lyons Business Centre to the east and existing homes to the west. The current proposal seeks to deliver up to 50 homes including affordable housing and public open space.

OVERVIEW OF THE EMERGING PROPOSAL

  • To utilise previously developed land and replace the existing bungalow with up to 50 high quality new homes.

  • To provide policy-compliant affordable homes, accommodating the needs of first-time buyers, growing families, and those looking to downsize.

  • Establishes a strong, green southern boundary to the village through new tree and hedgerow planting.

  • Pedestrian connectivity improvements to local amenities.

  • With a new access onto Burnham Road, there is scope to extend the 30mph speed limit to improve safety.
